What is the Sushi Fest Art Auction?
One of the main topics around SushiFest is how we can make better decisions around our seafood choices and help protect our oceans. It’s in that spirit that the idea for a SushiFest Art Auction was hatched. At first the idea was to give away art at SushiFest IV:XX. That idea got me thinking that we could do some good and so I reached out to a number of friends, most of which are climbers, to see if they’d donate. The response has been truly humbling.
How does it work?
I’d like to be able to do this eBay auction style but that would require a bit of work on my part and also require anyone wanting to bid to create an account, etc. So, instead I’m going to post on this site as well as on Facebook the various items.
It’ll work like this:
Each item will have a starting price and each item will also have a Buy It price. If anyone goes for the Buy It price I will do my best to acquire another similar/same item so there can continue to be an auction for it.
Once an item receives a bid it will remain available for two weeks.
Each item will have an individual or an organization assigned to it. The individual or orgs will mostly be working towards trying to help our oceans. We’ll also include the American Cancer Society and an org that is fighting for social justice.
The winner is will contribute directly to the individual/org and they will show me the proof. I will then turn the piece of art over to them.
I will keep the current price updated on this site as well as the Facebook posting. To bid simply email your bid at firstname.lastname@example.org.
